Software companies

Peter's expertise is in the areas of commercial and internal use software development from the application layer to developing lower lever interfaces and protocols. He has envisioned and developed commercial software in the digital archival, storage management, email migration, legal case management application suites, and early development of 4GL compilers. He has also implemented large scale COTS software for major corporations, and evaluated numerous technologies for developing standards use practices for major banks and corporations. He brings a unique perspective as a “buyer” and consumer of large enterprise software solutions, to a “software vendor” who has had the privilege of manufacturing and selling commercial software to large enterprises; as well as a consultant’s perspective in implementing large scale solutions. Having been on both sides of the fence, as a software vendor and a corporate consumer he brings a unique perspective to both sides of the table.

Software companies bringing products to market or who are looking to improve their market positions would be keen to hire Peter to help them position and fine tune their offerings for the commercial market. Many software companies build great software that cannot be easily adopted in the commercial space because they didn’t take into account what’s needed from an installation, maintenance and sustaining engineering, and upgrade path perspective. Consequentially, what happens to them is they win technical bake-offs and lose the deal, because the best software doesn’t always win. Peter knows what it takes to implement and support as well as build and manufacture and he always has a keen sense on the bottom and top lines where license revenue matters.
